Yes — you can hold a licensed civil ceremony outdoors beneath our neo-classical stone Cupola, surrounded by the walled garden. It’s one of the most romantic spots in North Yorkshire to say “I do”, framed by heritage planting and open sky. Registrar fees are separate and the Registrar must be booked directly with the local register office; we’ll help you time everything around their availability.

Yes. There are traditional churches in the surrounding villages, and the garden then becomes the perfect setting for your drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebration afterwards. Many couples pair a village-church ceremony with a Helperby reception to get the best of both.

Yes – there’s genuine on-site accommodation, so the celebration doesn’t have to end when the music does. You and your wedding party can stay in the Gardener’s Cottage right beside the garden, while up to 100 guests can glamp in our bell tent village a few steps from the tent. It means no late-night taxis for your nearest and dearest, a relaxed morning-after together, and everyone waking up in the Yorkshire countryside. All overnight guests depart by 11.00am the following morning.

Our glamping village sleeps up to 100 guests across as many as 50 bell tents, pitched in the field just beside the garden. It starts at £2,750 for ten couples’ tents (sleeping 20), with extra tents added to suit your numbers – and tents come with airbeds, bedding, lighting and styling as standard, plus a shared social tent, access to the venue toilets and an overnight venue porter. Guests check in from two hours before your ceremony, so they can settle in and be part of the day from the very start.

Yes – you’re free to choose your own photographer, florist, stylist, entertainment and other creative suppliers, subject to our usual insurance and safety requirements. That means your day looks exactly like you, not like a package. Food and the managed bar are the one exception: both are provided by our in-house team.

Catering and the bar are provided exclusively by our in-house team, so these aren’t outsourced. Far from a limitation, it’s one of the things couples love most – the kitchen offers a real range of styles, from relaxed sharing feasts to elegant multi-course dining, built around seasonal Yorkshire ingredients. We’ll shape the menu and drinks together until it feels completely yours.

Your venue hire includes styling access from 12.30pm to 5pm on the day before your wedding, plus a collection window from 09:30am to 11.30am the following morning. That day-before access is a genuine gift – you decorate calmly the afternoon before rather than in a rush on the morning itself, and you wake up on your wedding day with everything already in place.

Yes – there’s a purpose-built on-site car park for up to 70 vehicles, positioned to keep cars off the lawns and out of your photographs. Guests planning to enjoy a drink can leave a car overnight and arrange a taxi or transport for the return journey; we’ll happily point you to local options when you’re planning.

Yes – live bands, DJs and acoustic acts are all welcome. Just ask your chosen act to contact us in advance so we can confirm power supply, insurance, timings and sound requirements. Music carries beautifully across the garden as the evening settles in.

No – because Helperby is surrounded by working agricultural land and livestock, fireworks aren’t permitted. It’s worth asking us about the alternatives, though: there are several evening showstoppers that suit an enclosed garden setting wonderfully and photograph just as magically.

Venue hire runs until midnight, bar closes and music finishes at 11:30PM. Because there’s on-site accommodation, the celebration can carry on informally at the on-site accommodation after the main event winds down.
