At each of the Wonderland Wedding Venues, we understand that even with the best planning, things can go wrong on your big day.
But that’s where our team of experienced wedding planners come in. We’ve seen it all and, more importantly, fixed it all. From soaked wedding dresses to missing cakes, we make it our mission to keep your day running smoothly, no matter what happens.
One particularly rainy wedding day, a Wonderland Wedding Venues bride had been determined to embrace the weather, and happily spent time outdoors walking down the aisle and back to the tipi, and she was posing for photos with her new husband in the rain. After a few hours though, her beautiful dress had become completely soaked through and dirty along the bottom, which was making it heavy and cold. She was quite upset, and we decided to step in as we thought it was limiting her from fully enjoying the rest of the day. One of our wonderful managers brought her over to the heater inside the tipi and carefully began to dry off the fabric. Armed with warm water and sponges, a few more of the team quickly (and gently!) worked on removing the worst patches of mud and dirt from her dress. After around 10 minutes, her dress was much lighter, she was warmer, and ready to enjoy the speeches and dinner.
Another hiccup we’ve had to overcome involved a missing wedding cake.
Earlier in the year, one bride had ordered her cake from a local baker which was recommended by a friend. It was due to arrive at 11 am, in plenty of time for her 1 pm ceremony. This delivery time came and went, with the cake nowhere to be seen. After trying to contact the baker on the brides behalf, we received no response. After a quick conversation with the bride’s mother, we made the decision to improvise. Luckily, there was an M&S food hall nearby that stocked some lovely pre-made cakes. A quick trip in the car by a member of staff, and we had a cake ready for the bride and groom to cut. It wasn’t the cake they had planned, but it was a beautiful substitute, and they were still able to enjoy that special moment with their guests. Crisis averted, and the newlyweds barely noticed that it was a replacement!
Sometimes, unexpected moments bring a bit of humour to a wedding day.
We had a pretty memorable groom who decided to take part in a spontaneous space hopper race with his best man during the reception. In his excitement, he managed to rip his trousers open! The bride, the guests, and most of our team who saw were all very entertained, and despite laughing along himself, the groom understandably wanted it fixed as quickly as possible. Our Wedding day teams are usually armed with a needle and thread, so with some impressive sewing the trousers were as good as new, and the groom went back on the dancefloor, fully intact.
At Wonderland Wedding Venues, we believe that every wedding day should be as stress-free as possible.
We like to think that we are as calm and practical as can be when things don’t go according to plan. We believe that whatever challenges may arise on your special day, we’ll be able to handle them with professionalism, to ensure your day stays on track.
